Slipknot Announce First New Song With Eloy Casagrande, ‘Long May You Die’

Slipknot has been hinting at a new song since the arrival of their new drummer, Eloy Casagrande.

The band has been relatively quiet since they unexpectedly released the EP ‘Adderall’ last year. Recently, however, they’ve been teasing a new track titled ‘Long May You Die.’ Slipknot took to Instagram to share a post about the upcoming song, saying:

“Slipknot fans are talking amongst themselves about ‘Long May You Die’ being a new song written during the recent recording sessions.”

They confirmed the speculation with:

“You’re right. You’re absolutely right.”

Casagrande on Joining Slipknot

In addition to the new song news, Casagrande shared his experience of joining Slipknot in an interview with Kerrang. He mentioned that the band tested him with both old and new material during his audition:

“I think that was also part of the audition; they threw new ideas at me to see what my songwriting was like. They wanted to test me in every way.”

He added:

“I’m still trying to understand how the dynamics of the band work—it’s not so clear yet how things work in terms of records and new songs. We’ve written a few things, and they’re shelved for the time being…”

Interestingly, the song title ‘Long May You Die’ also appeared as a slogan on a billboard the band put up last month.

While there’s no release date yet for ‘Long May You Die,’ Slipknot has confirmed they will be touring this fall with their ‘Here Comes the Pain’ tour.
