Celebrating 26 years since the groundbreaking release of Orgy’s debut album, “Candyass,” the band is gearing up for a sensational 25th-anniversary tour, taking fans on a nostalgic journey through their nu-metal era. In a quirky twist of timing, the tour, which features a co-headlining partnership with Cold, is set to kick off on April 11, a bit belated but promising an electrifying experience for fans.
Not just a musical spectacle, Orgy accompanies the tour announcement with exciting news of remastered vinyl reissues for both “Candyass,” which graced our ears 26 years ago in 1998, and their second album, “Vapor Transmission,” released 24 years ago in 2000. Notably, the only album excluded from this vinyl revival is “Punk Statik Paranoia,” released exactly 20 years ago next month, thus missing the significant anniversary in 2024. One might playfully wonder if Orgy’s knack for numbers is just as avant-garde as their music.
Scooter Ward of Cold shares his enthusiasm for co-headlining with Orgy in a statement, expressing excitement about celebrating the iconic album “Candyass”: “Cold is excited to be back out on the road with Orgy this Spring on our co-headline tour for their anniversary of the album Candyass. That album has always been a staple record for an era of music that changed the landscape for things to come in our genre. Looking forward to being a part of the celebration!”
For eager fans looking to join in the celebration, tickets for this extraordinary tour are already available. The journey begins on April 11 at The Bottom Lounge in Chicago, IL, and spans across various cities, promising a sonic and visual spectacle that encapsulates the essence of Orgy’s influential music.
