Mastodon celebrated the 15th anniversary of their album “Crack The Skye” with exciting news for fans. They hinted at new music in the works and mentioned a possible new version of “Crack The Skye” on the horizon.
“Today marks 15 years since we unleashed ‘Crack The Skye,'” Mastodon shared. “It was a time of exploration and new sounds for us, and we’re grateful for our fans who have supported our journey into new territories with each album.
“We might be cooking up something new behind the scenes… but that’s our little secret for now. In the meantime, let’s revisit the album and share your favorite moments with us. Who knows, there might be a fresh take on ‘Crack The Skye’ coming soon.
“We’re also celebrating another milestone, 20 years of ‘Leviathan’! We’ll be playing the entire record on the Ashes of Leviathan Tour with Lamb of God. It’s going to be an epic tour! Tickets are available now, see you in July/August!”
Aside from its sci-fi theme, “Crack The Skye” is a tribute to drummer Brann Dailor’s late sister Skye Dailor. Dailor shared a special artwork detail that honors her memory.
