Evanescence Releases Music Video For ‘Yeah Right’

Evanescence, the renowned rock band, recently released a music video for “Yeah Right”, a track from their album “The Bitter Truth”. This video, directed and edited by Eric Richter, captures moments from their October 2023 Latin American tour. “The Bitter Truth”, their first album with new material in ten years, debuted in March 2021 under BMG and was produced by Nick Raskulinecz, also known for his work on their 2011 self-titled album.

The band’s lineup has seen significant changes, with Emma Anzai of Sick Puppies joining on bass and long-time bassist Tim McCord transitioning to guitar. Amy Lee, Evanescence’s lead singer, shared in an interview with Josh Olek of Triple M radio in Australia, her long-standing admiration for Anzai and her dream of collaborating musically, which eventually materialized. McCord, embracing the change, has found joy in returning to his original instrument.

Emma Anzai spoke to Bass Magazine about her unexpected opportunity to join Evanescence, recalling her early touring days with Sick Puppies and the supportive camaraderie shared with Amy Lee. She reflected on the evolution of women’s roles in music and her personal growth since those early tours.

In May 2022, guitarist Jen Majura parted ways with Evanescence, a decision shared via social media. Majura, expressing her feelings on Ola Englund’s YouTube show “Coffee With Ola”, likened the experience to a divorce, revealing the suddenness of the decision and her initial disbelief. Despite the emotional impact, she strives to find positivity in the situation.

Majura, who joined Evanescence in August 2015 as Terry Balsamo’s replacement, has described herself as a “half-Asian living in Germany”, bringing a unique perspective to the band’s dynamic during her tenure.
