Morris stated that despite his pleas to have the jacket removed so he could transfer to another hospital, his request was denied.
In the lawsuit filed on June 10th, Morris recounts how a nurse eventually believed his identity as a member of The Four Tops, resulting in the cancellation of his scheduled psychiatric test. The hospital reportedly offered him a $25 gift card as an apology, which he refused. Morris is seeking at least $75,000 in compensation, according to People.

The lawsuit names Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, a nurse, and a security guard as defendants, accusing them of racial discrimination and misconduct. Notably, the security guard named in the case passed away in September of the previous year.
