Tommy Lee recently reacted to Foo Fighters hiring Josh Freese to replace Taylor Hawkins on Instagram while sharing a sketch where the band smoothly revealed their new drummer.
Foos quite recently announced they were hiring Freese, a longtime friend of Dave Grohl, to take the stage on the act’s approaching world tour, and the Mötley Crüe rocker decided to show some support for the recent hire by sharing a fun short video featuring the band and Josh, seemingly on their first rehearsal.
Lee’s supportive caption followed:
“The best of the best to my Foo boys!”
The drummer wasn’t the only one to congratulate the new recruitment, as, from Billy Idol’s longtime collaborator Steve Stevens to Disturbed frontman David Draiman, many other rockers also praised Grohl and co. for making ‘the right choice‘ by hiring Freese for the job.
Stevens tweeted:
“Foo Fighters could not have made a better decision. Josh Freese is the best of the best.”
Draiman soon followed:
“An amazing choice.”
So, as Fresee’s fellow rockers seemed quite happy with Foo Fighters’ choice, the band’s first show with their new drummer will take place on Wednesday in New Hampshire, marking a new chapter for the Foos after Taylor Hawkins’ unfortunate passing.
