Tom Cruise apologizes to a couple for interfering with their hike with a dangerous stunt

Tom Cruise astounded a British couple on a hike by paragliding off a cliff while filming a stunt for the upcoming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning film. Jason and Sarah Haygarth were on a routine hike through the Lake District in the United Kingdom with their dog, Edward, when they heard helicopters flying overhead. In an interview with Extra, the couple described how they were climbing a hill when they saw a helicopter coming up a ravine and dropping off passengers.  “We were like, this didn’t seem right,” Jason said. “When we reached the peak, a member of the production crew stopped us and said, ‘You cannot proceed. We will land the helicopter atop the mountain.'”

After the helicopter landed, the couple was permitted to continue hiking. Sarah reported that as they rounded a corner, they observed Tom Cruise strapping himself into a paraglider. “I knew immediately that it was him,” she said. People were talking about Mission: Impossible filming when we arrived, but I expected to see a stunt double. Cruise, 60, conversed with the couple prior to deploying his parachute. “I’m sorry, guys, I know our noise ruined your stroll.” Jason reported that Cruise told them. Sarah continued, “He then stated, ‘I like your dog.'”

“We inquired as to what you were doing.” Then he stated, ‘I’m going to jump,'” recalled Jason. “I was like, ‘What are you going to do?'” He declared, “I’m going to jump!” The couple filmed Cruise as he ran towards the cliff’s edge and leapt into the ravine. The Sun published footage of the action star filming the stunt for the upcoming installment of Mission: Impossible. “Just prior to jumping, he said, ‘See you later! “I’m hoping for the best,” Jason added. We wished Tom good luck. The star of Top Gun: Maverick is renowned for performing his own stunts. For the seventh Mission: Impossible film, Cruise reportedly trained for an entire year to perfect a motorcycle jump from a Norwegian cliff into a valley. On 14 July 2023, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning will be released in theaters.
