This Dog Couldn’t Stop Hugging His New Owner After Being Saved From Abusive People

Losing a dog is an incredibly poignant experience, one that leaves a void no words can fill.

Questions linger: Did I do enough? Was I the right companion?

For the McCraw family, solace arrived unexpectedly in the form of a new four-legged friend bursting with joy to greet them.

Following the heartbreaking loss of their beloved Mischka to cancer, the McCraws were reeling with grief. Just when they needed it most, Maggie entered their lives, and they knew she belonged with them.

Arranged by Halfway There Rescue in South Carolina, their first encounter with Maggie was nothing short of heartwarming.

Speaking to The Dodo, McCraw shared, “She melted my heart. We had lost our other dog a few months prior to meeting Maggie, and this was just a meet-and-greet in my mind. I didn’t think I was ready for a new dog at the time.”

This was Demi (now Maggie) meeting her new dad for the very first time. It’s like they had known each other for years ❤️😍 this is why we foster. This is the moment a neglected dog becomes part of a family #pitbullsoftiktok #rescuedogsoftiktok #fosterpuppiesoftiktok #adoptdontshop #loveatfirstsight

Mary and Mark instantly fell in love with Maggie’s personality. From the very first meeting, it was clear they were destined to be together.

Throughout their time together, Maggie showered her new human dad with affectionate hugs, a heartwarming gesture of gratitude for being rescued.
