Slash Cancels Tour Dates Following Stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight’s Tragic Death

Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has cancelled several dates in the United States following the devastating loss of his stepdaughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight. Knight, aged 25, passed away in Los Angeles on July 19th. The family has requested that speculation about her death be avoided on social media and has refrained from revealing any details about the cause of her passing.

A Heartbreaking Loss

Slash, who first entered a relationship with Knight’s mother, Meegan Hodges, in 1989, rekindled their romance in 2015. Despite not being Lucy-Bleu’s biological father, Slash played a pivotal role in her life. In light of the tragic news, Slash has cancelled several scheduled live performances to be with his family.

In a statement shared on Slash’s Instagram, the family wrote: “Lucy-Bleu Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2024.” They described Lucy-Bleu as “an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.”

Impact on Slash’s Tour

The guitarist is currently on his S.E.R.P.E.N.T. tour across North America and was set to play in Cincinnati on July 22nd, which has now been understandably cancelled. Other dates affected include Interlochen, Huber Heights, and Windsor. As things stand, the tour is set to resume in Toronto on July 28th.

Announcing the cancellation of the four dates, Slash issued the following message: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour regrettably has to cancel the below performances. Refunds will be available at points of purchase.”

Community Support

The musical community has already begun to rally around Slash and his family as they deal with their bereavement. In the comments on his Instagram post, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea wrote: “Oh man, god bless.” Additionally, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan‘s wife, Susan Holmes McKagan, said: “Words cannot express our deepest sympathy and condolences. Love you all so much.” Furthermore, Violet Grohl, the daughter of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, offered her condolences, writing, “My heart hurts for you guys. All the love to your family rn.”

Privacy and Respect

The message from the family concluded with a request for privacy during this difficult time as they grieve the loss of Lucy-Bleu. They also asked that “social media speculation is kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”
