“Hold Me Closer” by Britney Spears and Elton John is officially confirmed as a duet

The duet between Britney Spears and Elton John has been confirmed. Today (August 8) representatives for both artists issued a press release announcing that the song’s title is “Hold Me Closer.” At this time, a specific release date has not been announced. Below is the single’s artwork. The confirmation follows multiple reports that the duo “secretly recorded” a new version of John’s 1972 single “Tiny Dancer.” The single is pre-saveable on this page.  An unnamed source described the rumored track as “incredible” in a recent Page Six article, adding that “Britney was in the studio in Beverly Hills last week with Elton for a super-secret recording session overseen by uber-producer Andrew Watt.”

During a recent interview with Paul Voor Je Neus, Spears’s longtime friend Paris Hilton confirmed that the rumors were true. The upcoming song by John and Spears, according to Hilton, will be legendary. A few days ago, I heard it in Ibiza, and it is… it’s insane.  However, Entertainment Tonight later asserted that Hilton misspoke and has not heard the collaboration. John recorded an entire album’s worth of high-profile duets with Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, and Stevie Nicks for his 2021 album ‘The Lockdown Sessions’. 2016 marked the release of Spears’ ninth and most recent studio album, ‘Glory’ To commemorate her 39th birthday, she released an outtake from that album, ‘Swimming In The Stars’, in late 2020.

The pop star revealed in December 2021 that she was working on new music. A month prior, her controversial 13-year conservatorship had been terminated.  Recently, Spears released an acappella rendition of her debut single ‘Baby One More Time’ “I haven’t shared my voice in a very long time. perhaps too long,” she wrote in the Instagram caption.  According to reports, the singer’s upcoming memoir has been delayed due to a paper shortage.
