Sophie Simmons, the daughter of KISS legend Gene Simmons and a singer, discussed her engagement in an interview with ET Canada. The musician described her father’s reaction upon learning that she would soon be marrying. Sophie, the daughter of internationally renowned model Shannon Tweed and musician Gene Simmons, decided to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a musician. Her singles ‘Black Mirror’ and ‘Burn Me Down,’ as well as her collaborations with Rebel, Yellow Claw, and Sam Feldt, have received positive reviews. Obviously, as a consequence of her fame, the singer’s relationships have always been in the news; photos of her with Nick ‘Mosh’ Marshall, Christopher James, and James Kimble appeared on the covers of magazines.
Sophie posted a photo with her ex-boyfriend Kimble on Instagram last year, but she has since become more private about her relationships. Simmons announced her engagement to James Henderson on her 30th birthday, which made her family, friends, and fans happy and excited. Later, the KISS bassist shared a backstage photo of her daughter along with the good news about her daughter. Sophie added, in response to the reporter’s question, that her mother had known about the proposal for weeks. Henderson informed Simmons just two hours before the proposal, due to Gene’s reputation for being unable to keep a secret. Sophie reported that Gene Simmons was surprised by the news and began asking numerous questions about the engagement. Sophie termed her father’s behavior a “total dad meltdown.”
The following is the text of ET Canada’s tweet: “‘Complete dad meltdown.’ Sophie Simmons, a singer-songwriter, discusses her father Gene Simmons’ reaction to her recent engagement. Simmons described the circumstance, stating: They were present. My mother knew for weeks, while my father was informed two hours prior. He was amusing. He is unable to keep a secret, so he told him two hours ago. He remarked, “I just feel like this is out of the blue; does she know? Where are you going to take her?’ He was a complete meltdown as a father. You can view the tweet that follows.
