Due to his health issues, Whitesnake will not join the Scorpions on tour, according to David Coverdale

Whitesnake legend David Coverdale announced on the group’s official Instagram account that the band would no longer be participating in the upcoming Scorpions tour. Coverdale explained the rationale for this decision and delivered the bad news regarding Whitesnake’s upcoming concert dates. On February 25, 2022, Scorpions released their nineteenth studio album titled ‘Rock Believer’ to positive reviews from critics. The majority of the band’s longtime fans felt that the seven-year wait for a new album was worthwhile. As usual, it was time to promote the album by performing worldwide as part of their new tour, the Rock Believer World Tour, which left their fans ecstatic.

Whitesnake was supposed to join them for the North American leg, which will begin on August 21, 2022 in Toronto and end on October 21, 2022 in Las Vegas, but Coverdale’s health prevented it. In their Instagram post, Coverdale expressed regret that his ongoing upper respiratory infection prevented him from touring with their good friends, the Scorpions. Coverdale revealed that the band canceled their performances for the same reason in addition to their new tour. Prior to the singer’s sinus infection and trachea problems, they had not performed more than two concerts. The lead singer issued an apology to his bandmates, crew, Scorpions, and fans. The German group will continue their tour with Swedish hard rock group Thundermother.

“It is with deep regret and a heavy heart that I must announce that Whitesnake will no longer be able to join The Scorpions on their U.S. and Canadian tour due to my ongoing treatment for a persistent upper respiratory infection that hinders my ability to perform. It also includes the cancellation of our headline performances. In contrast to Whitesnake, the Scorpions will continue touring. We wish success to our good friends, Scorpions! We wish you the best. David Coverdale.” Coverdale added: “I am deeply sorry to my incredible Whitesnake bandmates, Reb, Joel, Tommy, Michele, Tanya, and Dino. I could not have asked for a more incredible, inspiring, and thrilling band. Also to our wonderful Whitesnake crew of 2022, our dear friends from Scorpions, Klaus, Rudolf, Matthias, Pavel, and Mikky D, as well as all the agents and promoters, and of course to you, our truly incredible fans. I am heartbroken that I am unable to tour.”
