Bill Wyman recently chatted with Yahoo News, discussing what had changed in his life after leaving the Rolling Stones and how it benefited his personal life.
The bassist called it quits in 1993 and had been leading a much quieter life away from the spotlight while his former bandmates still rock the stage. However, Wyman seemed not to have any regrets, discussing how the decision affected his life as a family man.
Bill explained:
“Not for a second have I regretted leaving. Within two years of leaving the Stones, I was married to Suzanne [Accosta]. We have three beautiful daughters, it couldn’t be better.”
The rocker then discussed whether he still was in contact with his former bandmates, sharing exclusive insight into their current relationship and clearing the air about if there was any bad blood.
Wyman revealed:
“Charlie Watts was my closest friend, and he’s gone now, but I see Mick [Jagger] occasionally because my wife is best friends with Jerry Hall [Jagger’s ex-partner]. Mick and Keith [Richards] and I send each other Christmas cards. I don’t have much to do with Ronnie [Wood].”
The Rolling Stones veteran thought that leaving the band had benefited his life as a family man since he settled in with a wife quickly after his departure. However, he was still friendly with his former pals, though it seemed things were a bit bitter with Wood.
