‘Betrayed’ Stallone criticizes the producer of Rocky and Dolph Lundgren. Never desired this

SYLVESTER STALLONE shocked Hollywood with a vicious new public attack on the Rocky producer, referring to him as a “pathetic, parasitic weasel.” In addition to apologizing to fans, the “heartbroken” actor attacked his Rocky co-star Dolph Lundgren, stating, “He is no longer my friend.” The veteran action star is prepared for ten rounds with his former Rocky producer after launching vicious and insulting social media attacks. The language and content of a series of tweets from the Rocky and Rambo star have stunned Hollywood as he attacks the 91-year-old veteran producer and his “useless” producer sons. Stallone is “heartbroken” over the current state of his Rocky franchise and the characters he created, telling fans, “I never wanted ROCKY to be exploited FOR THIS GREED.”

It is even more remarkable because Stallone and producer Irwin Winkler have collaborated on every Rocky film since the first one in 1976. However, in a startling new post, Stallone stated: “Another Heartache… Just learned this… ONCE AGAIN, IRWIN WINKLER, this 94-year-old PRODUCER, and HIS SELFISH USELESS CHILDREN are picking what remains OF ANOTHER FANTASTIC CHARACTER!!! Seriously, how do you rats appear in the mirror? I apologize to the FANS; I am sorry to the FANS.”

David and Charles Winkler worked on later installments of the franchise. The dispute has been sparked by the upcoming Rocky spin-off project featuring Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago from Rocky IV. It will be Robert Lawton’s account of the origin of the Russian antihero. Stallone has vehemently severed ties with Lundgren, stating: “Once upon a time, I had nothing but respect for Dolph, but he never told me what was happening behind my back with the character I created for him!!! GENUINE FRIENDS are more valuable than gold.”

Stallone initially posted about the dispute over the alleged ‘ownership’ “pertaining to the stories and characters he developed earlier this month. On July 17, he posted (and later deleted): “I would like to have at least a portion of my remaining rights back before passing it on to ONLY YOUR CHILDREN – I think that would be a FAIR gesture.” In that post, he referred to Winkler as “the astonishingly talentless and parasitic Producer of Rocky and Creed.” It is a shockingly direct and personal attack, especially considering how long the pair worked together. Stallone was present in 2000 when Winkler was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Commentators have also noted that Lundgren began teasing the project last November, despite Stallone’s current claim that he “just found out.” Despite Stallone’s characterization of him as a parasite, Winkler previously revealed that he mortgaged his home and offered it as collateral to the studio in order to finance the production of the first Rocky film. Roger Friedman, a former entertainment reporter for Fox News, stated: “Stallone’s producing partner, Braden Aftergood, reportedly attended a Zoom pitch meeting with Lawton in April and gave the project Stallone’s blessing. According to my sources, MGM would not produce a Rocky spin-off film without Stallone’s approval… “What is still illogical about this? Stallone could handle all of this with the assistance of the top Hollywood attorneys and agents. Why has he chosen to engage in a public confrontation? It reflects poorly on him, right or wrong.”
