Andy McCoy of Hanoi Rocks claims he resurrected Nikki Sixx

Andy McCoy, guitarist for Hanoi Rocks, was recently interviewed by Indie Power and discussed his relationship with Nikki Sixx. The musician also recalled a time when he saved the life of the bassist. It is common knowledge that Hanoi Rocks and Motley Crüe have a tumultuous past replete with tragic incidents and numerous disagreements between two band members. Nicholas ‘Razzle’ Dingley, drummer for Hanoi Rocks, was killed in a car accident while Vince Neil was behind the wheel. This tragic incident is likely the most infamous. Andy McCoy recently mentioned it in another interview and criticized Vince Neil for never apologizing to him for past events.

This time, McCoy was harsh with another Motley Crüe member, Nikki Sixx, regarding his heroin-related near-death experience in 1987. Nikki Sixx had long struggled with addiction, and he died for nearly two minutes at one point. Sixx was declared dead despite the efforts of those who attempted to revive him at the time. The bassist was then brought back to life in the hospital. Andy McCoy claimed that Nikki Sixx’s book, ‘The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star,’ in which he also discussed this near-death experience, is full of lies because it does not accurately portray what occurred.

The guitarist claimed that he was the one who revived Nikki Sixx to save his life, despite the contradictory account in his book. McCoy also noted that Sixx never thanked him for saving his life, which, in his eyes, made Sixx a “second-class citizen.” Andy McCoy stated the following regarding Nikki Sixx’s overdose: “I f*cked revived him and got his heart beating again. And the gratitude I’ve received has been nothing. I mean, de nada. In my opinion, he is a second-class citizen because he only cares about money.” The remainder of the interview can be viewed below.
