Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers selects the greatest punk rock drummer of all time

Flea, bassist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, recently revealed on Twitter who he considers to be the greatest drummer in punk rock history. Flea of RHCP is an avid user of social media; he frequently posts tweets expressing his undying love and support for the Los Angeles Lakers, holds Q&A sessions with fans, and reveals his opinions on his fellow artists. In addition, the bassist enjoys interacting with fans on Twitter and commenting on contemporary rock music. On July 7, Flea took to Twitter to honor the birthday of Ringo Starr, drummer for the Beatles. While celebrating his 82nd birthday, the musician praised Starr’s contributions to drumming techniques and emphasized the importance of emotion over technical virtuosity. Flea described Starr as the most underrated drummer in the history of rock music in a tweet.

Recently, Flea shared his thoughts on Don Bolles, another drummer. Bolles performed with bands such as Germs, 45 Grave, Nervous Gender, and Celebrity Skin during the 1970s and 1980s punk scene in Los Angeles. Before moving to Los Angeles in February 1978, he also played with multiple punk bands from Phoenix. Don Bolles is not currently concentrating on drumming; instead, he collaborates with other musicians as a DJ and organizes events with them. Flea argued in a recent tweet that Don Bolles is the greatest punk rock drummer of all time and revealed that he is a fan of Bolles’ playing style.
