Selena Gomez is currently composing new music. In a TikTok video posted on Wednesday, the 29-year-old Only Murders in the Building star wore headphones and stood in front of a microphone in a recording studio. Gomez wrote “New” in the caption. The star would release new music for the first time since her debut Spanish-language EP Revelación in 2021. Gomez told Deadline’s Crew Call podcast in May about her new music, “I just wrapped up Season 4 of my cooking show [Selena + Chef], and I am currently in L.A. working on my album.” She added, “I’m grateful for where I am, but I believe I’ve barely scratched the surface of what I’m capable of.”
The “Rare” singer is also contemplating touring with her new music. “I am completely open to a tour,” she said. “Nonetheless, I have obligations and desires, so when the time is appropriate. It is not at the top of my list of priorities.” In March of 2021, Gomez, who portrays Cara Delevigne’s love interest in the upcoming season of Only Murders, released the album Revelación. It earned her a first Grammy nomination for best Latin pop album, and she has since referred to the music as “a tribute to my heritage.”

I’m very ecstatic!” In 2020, she released the album Rare, and in October 2021, she contributed vocals to the Coldplay song “Let Somebody Go.” Shortly after the song’s release, she performed live with Chris Martin and his band to sing it on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Away from music, the singer, actress, and producer is currently starring in the second season premiere of the hit Hulu series Only Murders in the Building, which debuted last month. Gomez, who co-stars with Steve Martin and Martin Short, told Crew Call that the second season is “a million times better” than the first.
